Mary E. Cox Lauster 88, of 202 N. Union Drive, Winona Lake, passed away at 3:35 a.m. Sept. 18, 2010, in Grace Village Health Care, Winona Lake.
She was born June 24, 1922, in Kittanning, Pa., to Fulmer and Elsie Craig Cox. On Feb. 22, 1950, in Kittanning, she married Paul Lauster, who died May 9, 2010.
She was a 1940 Kittanning High School graduate and a homemaker.
She was a member of United Presbyterian Church of Kittanning where she served as church treasurer, secretary and treasurer of the Sunday school, as well as a youth group teacher. After moving to Winona Lake in 1950, she began teaching Sunday school at the Church of the Nazarene. She was also a member of The Bible Presbyterian Church, which her husband Paul was a charter founding member and elder. In recent years, she attended The Winona Lake Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Leana (and spouse Neil) Allison and Eileen Smith, all of Warsaw; six sons, David (and spouse Aileen) Lauster, Wes (and spouse Carol) Lauster, Chris (and spouse Cathy) Lauster and Marty Lauster, all of Warsaw; John (and spouse Libby) Lauster, Leawood, Kan.; and Carl Lauster, Winona Lake; a brother, Craig (and spouse Edythe) Cox, Kittanning; six nephews: Jim Cox, The Colony, Texas; Roger Cox, Bethel Park, Pa.; Keith Cox, Newburgh; William Evick and Richard Evick, both of Youngstown, Ohio; and Neal Beyer, Clearwater, Fla.; a niece, Jane Skerl, Allison Park, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grand-children.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, with the Rev. Glenn Byers officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service Saturday at the funeral home.
