AVON PARK, Fla. – Mary E. Ashley, 93, Avon Park, went to be with the Lord Sept. 8, 2014. She was born Feb. 3, 1921, in Cortland, N.Y., to Ross and Mable Huff. She was married to Howard R. “Bud” Ashley, who preceded her in death. She had resided in Florida since 1998, having come from Warsaw. She lived most of her life in the Warsaw area. She worked at Warsaw area banks for many years. She was active in the Order of Eastern Star and the Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her two daughters, Jayne Ashley, Avon Park, and Joann Getchell, Indianapolis; three grandchildren: Carrie, Jamie and Eric; and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Pierceton.
