Mary C. Vanator, 81, Mishawaka, and formerly of Warsaw, passed away early May 16, 2016, at The Waterford at Edison Lakes, Mishawaka.
She was born Aug. 4, 1934, in Elkhart, to Dominic and Teresa Campiti Furfaro.
She was a beloved homemaker who was very proud of her Italian heritage. She deeply loved her family, cooking and hosting family gatherings.
Surviving are two sons, Jeffrey (and spouse Stefani) Bloch, Portland, Ore., and Robert (and fiance Nichole Beauregard) Vanator, Indianapolis; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank (and spouse Kay) Furfaro, Mishawaka; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Bloch; a sister, Angeline Cataldo; and two brothers, James and Anthony Furfaro.
A memorial mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, Elkhart. Burial will be at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
Calling is one hour prior to services Wednesday in the Vincent Hall, with Fr. Matthew Coonan officiating.
Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, Elkhart, is entrusted with arrangements.
