NAPPANEE - Mary C. Miller, 78, of 501 W. Randolph St., Nappanee, died at 1:29 p.m. Sept. 19, 2008, in her residence, after a short illness.
She was born May 14, 1930, in LaGrange, to Charles and Elizabeth H. Eash Lambright. On May 31, 1951, in LaGrange, she married Harley D. "Orchard" Miller, who survives.
Living most of her life in Nappanee, she and her husband worked with the Nappanee Chamber in organizing the first Apple Festivals in Nappanee, and they have been grand marshalls of the parade. She was co-owner of Miller's Orchard, Nappanee, since 1958. She was a member of Liberty Mennonite Church, North Liberty.
Also surviving are three sons, Nelson (and spouse Cynthia) Miller and Maynard (and spouse Lori) Miller, all of Nappanee, and Lyle (and spouse Lori) Miller, Fort Wayne; a daughter, Marilyn (and spouse LeRoy) Knepp, Goshen; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters: Amanda (and spouse Irvin) Eash, Bloomfield, Iowa; Wilma (and spouse Raymond) Yoder, Goshen; and Katie (and spouse Joe) Shinn, Shipshewana; and three brothers: Enos (and spouse Mary) Lambright, Sondona, Ariz.; Harvey (and spouse Pat) Lambright, Howe; and Freeman Lambright, Dandridge, Tenn. She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Conservation Church with Ray Stutzman officiating, assisted by Gilbert Miller. Burial will be in Bethel Conservative Church Cemetery.
Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior the service Tuesday at the church.
