Mary Bernhardt, 99, of Fort Wayne, died at 6 a.m. Oct. 6, 2010, in Heritage Park Healthcare Center, Fort Wayne.
She was born Nov. 12, 1910, in Warsaw, to Russell and Iva Study Shipley. On Sept. 23, 1933, in Fort Wayne, she married Lorenz Bernhardt, who died April 2, 2000.
A longtime resident of Warsaw, she was a homemaker and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandra Gearhart, Fort Wayne; a son, Lorenz (and spouse Elka) Bernhardt Jr., Bonita Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, a grandson and two brothers.
A private graveside service will be officiated by Pastor Stuart Floyd. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
No calling is planned.
