MENTONE – Mary Belle Swihart, 80, rural Rochester, died at 2:24 a.m. Dec. 6, 2014, at Woodlawn Hospital emergency room, Rochester. She was born Aug. 1, 1934, in Miami County, to Lyle and Cleo Mathias DePue. On July 2, 1960, in Argos Christian Church, she married James R. Swihart, who survives in Rochester. She was a homemaker. She was 1953 graduate of Argos High School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mentone, and she enjoyed flowers and gardening. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary Ann Miller, North Webster; two sons, James B. (and spouse Lynda) Swihart, Rockford, Mich., and Lee (and spouse Angie) Swihart, Rochester; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Davis, Crossville, Tenn., and Lena Tomforde, Boca Raton, Fla.; three brothers: John (and spouse Rosie) DePue, Argos; Lawrence (and spouse Jena) DePue, Buchanan, Mich.; and Lloyd (and spouse Carla) Depue, Winamac. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone, with Pastor Michael Wilhite officiating. Burial is in Walnut Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Argos.
