NORTH MANCHESTER – Marvin O. Armey, 90, of North Manchester, died at 5:27 p.m. April 12, 2011, in Timbercrest Healthcare Center, North Manchester.
He was born July 11, 1920, in Whitley County, to Ora and Grace Snell Armey. On Dec. 1, 1956, he married Florence Bessie Shotts, who survives.
He retired in 1986 from United Technologies-Essex Wire after 40 years service. A four-year World War II U.S. Army veteran, he served in Company H First Infantry. He was a member of Manchester Church of the Brethren.
Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Frieda Good, North Manchester; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, four brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at noon Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman and Clint Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
Calling is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the funeral home.
