NORTH MANCHESTER - Marvia Wilcox, 83, of North Manchester, died at 7:35 a.m. March 3, 2009, in Warsaw Meadows Healthcare Center.
He was born June 7, 1925, in Wabash County, to Ernest and Amelia Rickert Wilcox. On April 6, 1947, he married Norma Hoover, who survives.
He was a farmer for 65 years and a salesman for DeKalb Seed for 50 years. He attended Missionary Church, North Manchester, and Lagro High School. He was a member of Farm Bureau. He enjoyed raising horses and horse racing, hunting in Wyoming and travel. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sons: Mark (and spouse Judy) Wilcox, Silver Lake; Rodney (and spouse Jill) Wilcox, North Manchester; and Scott (and spouse Kim) Wilcox, Urbana; a daughter, Jane (and spouse Duane) Zentz, Bourbon; three brothers, Garland Wilcox and Ernest Junior (and spouse Betty) Wilcox, all of North Manchester, and Joe (and spouse Mary Lou) Wilcox, Urbana; a sister, Ruby Swihart, Roann; 15 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, three brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, with Pastor Dan Binkley officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
