I would like to express my concern over the suspension of Mr. Marino at Leesburg School. It seems to me that someone is intent on finding something to get rid of him for, for some reason. I don't want to say too much from "my point of view" because I don't have enough facts about what the heck's going on. What I do know is that this new issue isn't the first time he has been wrongly accused of wrong doing, and it seems that since that didn't work, now someone is trying something else.
I, for one, like Mr. Marino. He has a genuine concern for the well-being of my children, he fights for our school and has made great improvements since he has been there. As a parent and taxpayer, I couldn't give a hoot about a few people's bad attitude toward him; I only care about the kids and the education that they receive. I can imagine that is Mr. Marino's feeling also.
As I said, I don't have any facts to go off of, and that's the problem. You would think that we would be told why this is happening. I, for one, am going to support our principal and fight for our school. Mr. Marino is too good of a principal to just sit quietly by and let this happen.
I would like to invite all Leesburg parents to join me and my family to attend the next school board meeting, Monday, Aug. 20, at 7 p.m. at the CIMC Board Room out by Washington Elementary School. Maybe together we can all get the answers that we need.
