Martin's Super Markets announced the Monday opening of its newest store, located at 1150 Husky Trail, Warsaw (north side of U.S. 30, next to Menard's).
The store will open to the public at 10 a.m.
Dignitaries expected to officiate at the ribbon-cutting ceremony include Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins, Martin's Super Markets President & CEO Rob Bartels and Chairman of the Board Bob Bartels.
Special events will run through Nov. 17 and include complimentary tastings, demonstrations, giveaways and live radio remotes scheduled throughout the grand-opening period.
The 63,160-square-foot store will feature comprehensive grocery and non-foods departments as well as a full range of products and services.
The new store also will feature wide selections of natural and organic products in every department, as well as an extensive selections of fine wines and spirits.
An additional highlight will be the store's featured gluten-free section, grouping these specialty items together in aisle 4.
Located just inside the front entrance, the flower market will feature full-service pre-arranged and custom arrangements, including consultations on weddings, sympathy and special events.
A two-story, open-concept Side Door Deli Cafe features its own convenient entrance, seats 178 and provides free WiFi access for Martin's customers. Deli customers will also find a salad bar with more than 70 items and a wide selection of ready-to-eat meals both hot and cold, for eat in or take home. Fresh sushi will be available on a daily basis.
A Starbucks Coffee will anchor the area, serving a full range of Starbucks beverages and pastry items from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
The Bake Shoppe will feature fresh-baked artisan bread selections exclusive to Martin's Signature line. Fresh-made doughnuts will be available for mix and match from a large, self-service display. A muffin cart will feature a wide selection of Martin's own "Magnificent Muffins".
The produce department will feature more than 800 fresh selections ranging from locally grown favorites to exotic imports. More than 250 USDA-certified organic items will be offered as well.
The Butcher Shoppe will offer both self- and full-service, as well as specialty cuts. Martin's USDA Choice grain-fed beef is all natural/no additives. American-raised, Midwest-sourced lamb and veal cuts also will be available. Specialists also will be on hand to provide expert consultation on a wide range of seafood selections at the Seafood Shoppe.
Martin's "School of Cooking" will offer classes on a weekly basis, beginning with "Taste of Tapas" Nov. 11 at 6:30 p.m., taught by Chef Caleb France of Cerulean Restaurant. Classes will be held in the store's professional-grade KitchenAid®-equipped Cooking Classroom, located adjacent to the second level of the Side Door Deli seating area. Class size is limited to 25 students to ensure participants a premium learning experience. Tickets are $20 per person and can be purchased at the store's customer service office.
Crystal Stickel, Pharm.D., will manage the in-store pharmacy, which will offer convenient drive-through service in addition to personalized in-store consultation. Martin's Pharmacy offers free antibiotics and $9.99/90-day generic medication on many of the most-prescribed pharmaceutical medications.
Teachers Credit Union will operate a service center in the store. This branch will feature Smart ATMs, which provide a variety of electronic services, including multiple check and cash deposits. Check images are printed on the receipt. A TCU employee will be available 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday. Smart ATMs will be available during all Martin's business hours. The branch manager will be Greg Moeller.
Martin's new Warsaw store will employ 200. Store manager will be Stan Mast, and assistant manager will be Tom Hood. Operating hours will be 6 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Sunday. The store's phone number is 574-371-9000.
