Martha M. Shepherd, 89, Warsaw, passed away at 8:15 a.m. March 18, 2015, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw. She was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Wabash, to Walter and Bertha B. Pattie Middleton. On July 7, 1952, in Silver Lake, she married Claude Shepherd, who survives in Warsaw. She was a 1943 graduate of Wabash High School. She lived most of her life in Kosciusko County and was a homemaker. She was a member of Silver Creek Church of God, Silver Lake. She enjoyed knitting and cross stitching, and loved vegetable and flower gardening, gospel music and camping. Most of all, she loved her husband, daughter and grandchildren. Also surviving are a daughter, Sandy (and spouse John) Shepherd, Silver Lake; three grandchildren: Dan (and spouse Lauren) Shepherd, Fort Wayne; and Sara and Katie Shepherd, both of Silver Lake; and a sister, Elizabeth Mettler, Wabash. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Terry, Walter Jr. and Kenneth Middleton; and a sister, Betty Middleton. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Silver Creek Church of God, with Pastor Tom Craig of the church officiating. Burial is in Silver Creek Cemetery, Silver Lake.
