Martha Alkire, 92, Winona Lake, died at 11:54 a.m. Dec. 31, 2013, in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw. She was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Erie, Pa., to Joseph L. and Lula M. Chapman Nelson. On Sept. 23, 1955, she married Nimrod Alkire Jr., who died in 1984. A private graveside service will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown, W.Va., officiated by the Rev. Charles McDonald. No calling is planned.
