Marta J. Walgamuth, 68, of Warsaw, died at 8:34 a.m. Sept. 19, 2010, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born March 11, 1942, in Warsaw, to Rose M. Walgamuth.
A lifetime Warsaw resident, she was a meat cutter at Owen's Supermarket and also worked for Kinder Manufacturing. She was a 1960 graduate of Warsaw High School, excelling in athletics, track and softball. After high school she played semi-pro softball for the Valparaiso Queens.
Surviving are a brother, Bill Pochron, Warsaw; a sister, Peggy Wells, Warsaw; a niece, Abby Spulin, Sidney; and a nephew, Kevin Holly, Troy, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rose Pochron, who died Nov. 9, 1997, and her stepfather, Edward Pochron, who died Feb. 27, 1993.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday at Celebration United Methodist Church, Winona Lake, with Dewayne L. Barker officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the church.
