Marshall Signs With ValparaisoVALPARAISO — Valparaiso University softball head coach Jordan Stevens announced six athletes have signed national letters of intent, including Warsaw Community High School senior Kendra Marshall, during the early signing period and will join the Crusader softball program starting in the fall of 2012. “We are very pleased with the caliber of talent and athleticism in our 2012 class,” Stevens said. “This group of quality student-athletes has the ability to keep our program at the top and in contention for Horizon League championships.” Marshall is a 5-foot-6 utility player who comes to Valpo from Leesburg. A two-time First Team All-Northern Lakes Conference selection, Marshall was named Warsawís Best Offensive Player as a freshman and earned the teamís Golden Glove Defensive Award as a junior after setting a school record for assists in a season. “Kendra will be a great asset to the team with her ability to play multiple positions,” Stevens said. “She is very aggressive at the plate and can hit for power and average. Her attitude and passion for the game will fit very well within our program.”
