Mark Alan Makinson, 69, of Warsaw, suddenly went to be with his Lord on Friday, July 24, 2026.
He was born Sept. 11, 1956, in Davenport, Iowa, to Midge Rolison and LeRoy Makinson. On Dec. 30, 1978, he married Jackie, and they shared 47 years together.
Mark was a brick mason for most of his life, and that legacy outlived him through three of his children who took up the trade and built remarkably successful businesses of their own. However, for those who knew him, stonework is not what would first come to mind. Mark genuinely loved the Lord, and that was plain to everyone at the churches he associated with over the years. His Bible was always with him wherever he went, along with an easy smile and a kind word. He was also deeply committed to his family, and he spent his life praying for us and serving wherever he could lend a hand. There is real comfort in knowing he is home, where he always longed to be. We are grateful for him, and we will miss his comforting presence.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Makinson, of Warsaw; and his nine children: Jeremy (Tiffany) Makinson, Jacob Makinson, Adam (Catie) Makinson, Leslie (Jeremy) Mort, Heidi Makinson, Whitney Makinson, Kyle (Kayley) Makinson, Katie Makinson and Scott (Chrystal) Makinson. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Makinson and Midge Hibbs; and his brothers, Lee James Makinson and Paul Makinson.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Mark’s life, a graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 27 and officiated by his son, Jeremy Makinson; and his son-in-law, Jeremy Mort. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw.
