BOURBON — Mark A. Slabaugh, 60, Leesburg, died March 13, 2017, of a heart attack. He was born in Warsaw on Aug. 20, 1956, to George E. and Charlotte Mason Slabaugh. He was the owner and operator of A Cut Above Lawn Service. Previously, he worked at Frontline Manufacturing in Leesburg. He graduated in 1974 from Triton High School, where he played football. He attended Indiana University and was a loyal Indiana Hoosier fan, despite his daughter’s allegiance to Purdue. He was a handy man who enjoyed fixing things, working on projects in his garage and hunting for mushrooms in the spring. He will be missed by his family, friends and loyal dog, Bandit. He was preceded by father, George E. Slabaugh, and a brother, Frank Slabaugh. He is survived by his children, Brooklynne (spouse Brandon) Dalton, Tuscola, Ill., and Spencer Slabaugh, Indianapolis; mother, Charlotte Mason Slabaugh, Etna Green; brothers: Seth (spouse Kathleen) Slabaugh, Muncie; Todd (spouse Davi) Slabaugh, Etna Green; and Steven Slabaugh, Warsaw; stepgrandchild, Kaylee Baker, Warsaw; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., with visitation one hour prior, Thursday at Etna Green Church of Christ, 206 W. Broadway St., Etna Green. Burial will be in Etna Green Cemetery next to his parents.
