Marjorie A. Shafer, 73, of Middle Point, Ohio, died at 11:30 a.m. April 28, 2011, in Vancrest Healthcare Center Van Wert, Ohio. She was born Aug. 17, 1937, in Mishawaka, to John and Helen Cowan Grim. On May 10, 1959, she married Francis Junior Shafer, who died in September 1997. She moved to Middle Point from Warsaw in December 1996. She worked for Arnolt, Warsaw, and Holiday Bowl as a waitress. She was a member of the Salvation Army and Salvation Army Church. Her interests were the church choir, bell ringing and playing the trumpet for the Salvation Army, Land-o-Lakes CB Club. Surviving are a son, Max (and spouse Sue) Shafer, Goshen; two daughters, Lori (and spouse Scott) Culp, Atwood, and Angela Shepherd (and companion Ralph Sutton); two brothers, Gene (and spouse Karen) Grim, Claypool, and Richard (and spouse Donna) Grim, Rochester; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw, with Pastor Earl Gile officiating.
