LIGONIER – Marion Clester Halsey Sr., 86, Cromwell, passed away March 13, 2015, in Ligonier.
He was born June 10, 1928, in LaGrange County, to John C. and Lula Mae Gevedon Halsey. On March 4, 1951, he married Pearl Marie Foreman, who survives in Cromwell.
He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Atz Furniture in Ligonier for many years. He was a farmer. He enjoyed playing horse shoes.
Also surviving are a son, Marion C. Halsey Jr., Ligonier; three grandchildren: Derek L. (and spouse Pam) Halsey, Cromwell; Drew L. (and spouse Amy) Halsey, Ligonier; and Breanne (and spouse William) Willey, Milford; his five great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Zachary and Zoey Halsey, Brandon Northrup and Abby Willey; a sister, Justine (and spouse Norbert) Gaff, Florida; and a brother, Ralleigh Halsey, Kimmell. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and six brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Yeager Funeral Home, 1589 Lincolnway South, Ligonier, with Pastor Joseph Brickey officiating. Burial is in Sparta Cemetery.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
