Mariners Drive Rehabilitation Project Schedule Set

The Mariners Drive Rehabilitation project from Husky Trail to west of North Pointe Drive schedule has been set. According to a press release from Phend & Brown, project contractor, the project will begin today. Traffic control signage and detour markings will be provided in advance of and during any closure. Shoulder work for utility investigation will begin today. On Thursday activation of Mariners Drive road closure and detour route will take place. There will be surface milling to remove existing asphalt on Mariners Drive and milling will begin. Mariners Drive will be closed to through traffic from Husky Trial to North Pointe Drive. Mariners Drive will remain open to local traffic for the businesses and residences between Husky Trail and North Pointe Drive. Access for those affected and residences will be from North Pointe Drive onto Mariners Drive. The detour route will be Husky Trail to North Pointe Drive. Access will be maintained during construction for emergency vehicles at all times. On Friday there will be curb removal and concrete pavement removal. Other items to follow include subgrade treatment, aggregate base, concrete paving, concrete curb, pavement markings and sod. The Mariners Drive project is scheduled to be complete and fully opened to traffic in November.
