Marilyn Y. WesselingNORTH WEBSTER – Marilyn Y. Wesseling, of North Webster, passed away peacefully at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2022, at the age of 83.
Born in Bladen County, N.C., on Aug. 7, 1939, she was the daughter of Worth Packer Sr. and Delia Edwards Packer. She was a 1958 graduate of Bladenboro High School. Marilyn moved to Indiana in 1960, to Michigan in 1977 and back to Indiana in 1978. She worked at Syracuse Community Center and was a former employee of Walmart in Goshen. Marilyn was a member of North Webster Church of God and J.O.Y. (Just Older Youth) at the church.
As the sweet person that Marilyn was, she truly enjoyed animals and spending time with her family. Many of those who knew her called her “Grandma.” She also loved working in her yard, especially in her garden.
Those who survive with her memories to cherish include her children: Sheila (Rick) Swope, of Pierceton; and Jim (David) Hall, of Goshen; grandchildren: Brandy Swope, of Pierceton; Brad (Jaclyn) Swope, of Laveen, Ariz.; Kaylah (David) Hazelbaker, of Danville, Ill.; Michael (Chelsea) Hall, of Elkhart; and Ashlea Hall, of Goshen; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Eunice Martin, of Lawton, Mich.; and brother, Jerry (Donna) Packer, of Whitakers, N.C. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
Owen Family Funeral Home, North Webster, is entrusted with the care of Marilyn. Friends and family may gather there, 8056 E. CR 500N, North Webster, on Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 1 until 3 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 3 p.m. Burial will take place at North Webster Cemetery - Mock Addition.
