OSCEOLA – Marilyn Suzanne Wiard, 82, Mishawaka, passed away Oct. 13, 2014, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend.
She was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Burket, to Hershel and Wilma Flohr Loher. On April 12, 1952, in Warsaw, she married Charles R. Wiard, who survives in Mishawaka.
She graduated from Leesburg High School in 1950. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and feeding the hummingbirds, cardinals and finches at her bird feeder in her yard. She and her husband loved to work in their garden, and she helped to can and freeze the many fruits and vegetables they raised together over the years.
Also surviving are four children: Jeffrey Allen (and spouse Monique) Wiard and Tonya Eileen (and spouse Dave) Adamson, all of South Bend; Barry Owen (and spouse Julia) Wiard, Columbia City; Sonya Arleen (and spouse Tom) Shepard, Nashville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren: Drew (and spouse Amber) and Brittany Wiard; Christopher (and spouse Jessica), Cassandra, Corinn, Caroline and Camrin Shepard; four great-grandchildren, Bailee, Maxton, Delaney and Lilly Wiard; and two brothers, Wilmer E. (and spouse Alice) Loher, Castle Rock, Colo., and David E. Loher, Warsaw. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carolyn D. (and spouse Dana) Bowers and her sister-in-law, Karen Loher.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Funeral Home. Osceola, with Pastor Jason Nicholls of the Redeemer Missionary Church, South Bend, officiating. Burial is in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
