Marilyn Ruth Litton, 90, Munster and formerly of Hoffman Lake, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9, 2013, in Munster surrounded by family.
She was born April 7, 1923, in Hammond to Roy and Ruth F. Miner Mattix. On July 10, 1942, in Hammond, she married Kenneth A. Litton, who died on Nov. 1, 2001.
She was a 1941 graduate of Hammond High School. She was a bookkeeper for the Hammond Public Schools, and secretary for School City of Hammond. She was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood. She enjoyed reading, cooking and gardening, and loved living on Hoffman Lake.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol (and spouse Gene) Sera, League City, Texas, and Debra (and spouse Bill) McDillon, Highland; four grandchildren: Amy (and spouse Sean) Ricketts, Beth (and spouse Ryan) Scheckel, Ken McDillon and Jonathan (and spouse Grace) McDillon; five great-grandchildren; and brother, LeRoy (and spouse June) Mattix, South Bend. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Robert Mattix.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with the Rev. Edward Cunningham, Terrace Park Church of God, Hammond, officiating.
Calling will be from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
