HOLLAND, Mich. – Marilyn Patterson, 81, of Holland, Mich., passed away April 29, 2012, at The Inn at Freedom Village, surrounded by her family.

She was born July 11, 1930, in Pierceton, to Charles and Mary Shidler. She married Willliam Patterson, who survives.

She attended Heidelberg College, Tiffin, Ohio, where she was homecoming queen. She moved to Holland in 1954.

Also surviving are her children, Brad (and spouse Donna) Patterson and Brent (and spouse Amanda) Patterson, all of Holland; grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle and Spencer, all of Holland; a brother, Edward (and spouse Marlene) Shidler, Saugatuck; a stepmother, Mildred Shidler, Holland; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Brian, who died in 1956.

Services will be at 11 a.m Thursday at Dykstra Funeral Homes-Northwood Chapel, 295 Douglas Ave., Holland, Mich., with Dr. William Brownson officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrim Home Cemetery.
