GOSHEN — Marilyn Lou Ferverda Bayak, 75, Goshen, died 9:28 p.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Elkhart General Hospital.
She was born July 17, 1942, to Harold and Marie Sunday Ferverda. She was raised by her grandfather, Roscoe Ferverda and Ruby Burton. On Oct. 6, 1963, she married Roger Francis Bayak; he died Feb. 20, 2017.
Surviving are a fiancé, Joe Crivello, Monticello; a son, Andy (Paula) Bayak, Osceola; a daughter, Wendy (Kevin) Hite, New Paris; adopted son, Wojtek, Poland; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings: Rick (Carol) Wilson, Indiana; Sandy (Dick) Adams, Mexico, Ind.; and Joe Ferverda, Texas; an uncle, Stanley Williams, Silver Lake; an aunt, Eleanore Bajak, Prudenville, Mich.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David (Marsha) Bayak, Michigan; very dear nieces, nephews, and cousins; many dear friends; a dog, Sam; and a cat, Clancy.
Preceding her in death were her parents and her husband, Roger.
Marilyn was a secretary for 42 years, 37 years at Goshen College. She was a member of New Paris Missionary Church, where she was very actively involved and a part of the Women’s Ministry Team. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Goshen and of Crazy Horse Memorial, South Dakota. Marilyn was a volunteer at Goshen Hospital. She was an organ donor through the Indiana Donor Network.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 16, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret-Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, and one hour prior to the memorial service at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 17, at New Paris Missionary Church, 67621 Ind. 15, New Paris. Pastor Dave Hackney and Pastor Matt Schoettle will officiate.
Marilyn’s wishes were to be cremated. Burial will be at a later date in New Paris Cemetery.
