BOURBON – Marilyn D. Powell, 71, Milford, passed away at 12:10 a.m. Oct. 29, 2016, at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
She was born March 5, 1945, in Warsaw, to Joseph and Evelyn Brown Scott. On April 12, 1963, she married Fred Powell, who survives.   
She was a resident of the area all her life. She was a homemaker and was a sales representative for the Farmer’s Exchange. She was a faithful member of Wawasee Bible Church and was a graduate of Bourbon High School, class of 1963.
She enjoyed her family, friends, crocheting and playing hand-held video games (Tetrus and Yatzee), and she loved her grandchildren.
She will be greatly missed by her husband; a daughter, Latisha (and spouse Ian) Karns, Lafayette; and two sons: Terry Powell, Milford, and Richard (and spouse Alison) Powell, Syracuse. She was blessed with four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Marvene Scott, Warsaw; and a niece, Heidi Wringer.
She was preceded by her father on Jan. 11, 2000; her mother on March 29, 2013; and her brother, Marvin, in November 2012.
The funeral will be at 6 p.m. Thursday at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home, 115 S. Main Street, Bourbon. Pastor Jack Barthel of Wawasee Bible Church will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
