ROCHESTER - Marilyn Ann Hall, 75, formerly of 300 E. 4th St., Rochester, died at 3:22 a.m. Dec. 19, 2009, in Life Care Center, Rochester.
She was born Dec. 30, 1934, in Burket, to Mace Allen and Ida Pearl Matthews Holloway. On March 11, 1950, in Warsaw, she married Earl Clayton Hall, who survives.
She owned and operated Hall Cleaning Service, Rochester, for nearly 22 years. Later she was an operator the Rochester Telephone Company, worked at Topps Manufacturing and Life Care Center. She was a member of Fulton County Democratic Women's Club which she had served as an officer; the Daughters of the American Revolution; Order of Easter Star 70; former Homefront Club; and the Lake Manitou Women of the Moose.
An author, she had many of her works published. She once earned the National Golden Poets Award for her poetry.
Also surviving are three daughters, Vickie (and spouse Tom) Snyder, Temperance, Mich., and Kathy Powers and Deborah "Deb" (and spouse Jon) Fultz, all of Rochester; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great- grand-daughter; two sisters, Mary Phillips, Warsaw, and Geri (and spouse Robert) Hawley, Claypool; and a brother, Nelson (Gladys) Holloway, Burket. She was preceded in death by a brother.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester, with Chaplain Jason See officiating. Burial will be in Rochester IOOF Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
