Marie Petro Fisher, 92, of Warsaw, passed away at 10:08 p.m.  June 19, 2013, in her residence.
She was born Dec. 4, 1920, in Warsaw, to William Sr. and Nellie Garber Petro. In 1948, she married John Herbert Fisher, who died in 1994.
A lifetime Warsaw resident, she also lived in Lake Placid, Fla., during the wintertime. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Warsaw. She was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great-grandmother and master gardener of the famous Petro peppers. She was an avid golfer, expert fisherman, blue gill filleter and accomplished bridge champion.
Surviving are two sisters, Margaret Petro Like, Sebring, Fla., and Marjorie Petro Mitterling, Warsaw; five grandchildren: Trudi Bricker Williams, Margie Fisher Morrison, William Petro Fisher, Charlene Fisher Alexander and Beau James Bricker; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a brother, William Petro Jr., and two children, Judy Fisher Pequignot and William H. Fisher.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw, with Pastor Scott Carmer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
Calling is from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
