Marie M. Raypole, 89, Winona Lake, passed away at 7:35 a.m. Oct. 1, 2013 at Grace Village Health Care of Winona Lake.
She was born Feb. 3, 1924, in South Whitley to Orval L. and Viola M. Brock Joy. On May 4, 1942, in Denver, Colo., she married Corp. William Scott Raypole, Sr., who preceded her in death in June 2001.
She was a 1942 graduate of South Whitley High School, and a past member of the First Christian Church in Winamac. She was a resident of Warsaw since 1965, moving here from Winamac. She retired as the supervisor of the ordering department in 1988 from Zimmer Inc., Warsaw, after working there for 21 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her two sisters, Mabel (and spouse Bennett) Warner, South Whitley; and Mae Burns-Shiel, South Whitley; sister-in-law, Doris Leiter Sidney; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son William S. Raypole, Jr., two brothers, Hobart Joy and Harold Richard Joy, and a nephew, Robert K. Burns.
A private graveside service is planned at South Whitley-Cleveland Township Cemetery, South Whitley, with Pastor Layne Somner officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
