Marie Jo Mays Brown, 54, of Warsaw, passed away at 5:24 a.m. Feb. 5, 2012, in her residence.

She was born June 14, 1957, in Lexington, Ky., to John Milford Mays Jr. and Gladys Webb Smith. In 2005, in Cookeville, Tenn., she married Ridley L. Brown, who survives.

She spent her childhood years in Harrodsburg, Ky., then moving to Kosciusko County. She was a member of God’s Highway to Heaven Church, Warsaw, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 253, North Webster. She was a social worker in Floyd County, Ky., and a manager at Jenny Wiley State Park, Ky. She was a homemaker after moving to Warsaw. She loved to collect antiques and reading end-of-the-time prophecy books.

Also surviving are Mary Ellen Stacy, London, Ky.; Joyce (and spouse Bill) Chamberlain and Amanda Lynn (and souse Alexander) Martinez, all of Burgin, Ky.; and Patricia Ann (and spouse James) Burns, Fort Wayne; brothers: Norman (and spouse Valerie) Mays, Georgetown, Ky., and John (and souse Tina) Webb, London, Ky.; stepsons, Pastor Bob (and spouse Tanya) Brown and John (and spouse Rita) Brown, all of Warsaw; 11 step-grandchildren; 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandmother, Fannie Mays; and a brother, David Tuttle.

Services will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday at God’s Highway to Heaven, Warsaw, with Pastor Bob Brown officiating.

Calling is from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at the church.

McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, Warsaw, is in charge of arrangements.
