NORTH MANCHESTER - Marie E. Morris Kerlin, 99, of North Manchester, died at 11:30 a.m. April 7, 2009, in Peabody Healthcare Center.
She was born May 12, 1909, in Mason City, Iowa, to Joe and Ella Parker Morris. On Sept. 24, 1930, in Roann, she married John Kerlin, who preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and was a cook at several area restaurants. She was affiliated with Center United Methodist Church, Silver Lake, and attended Congregational Christian Church after she moved to North Manchester. She was a member of Ladies of the Lake Home Economics Club, Silver Lake, and the American Legion Auxiliary, Laketon, and a 75-year member of Order of the Eastern Star, Denver, Ind.
Surviving are a daughter, Jolene Reiff, North Manchester; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by four brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Congregational Christian Church, North Manchester, with Pastor J.P. Freeman officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery, Silver Lake.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel, North Manchester.
