Marie E. Cripe, 88, Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of Warsaw, went to be with the Lord Oct. 8, 2016.
She was born Nov. 3, 1927, in Avilla, to Wilmer P. and Alma Diederich Weimer. On Feb. 14, 1947, she married Norman Jay Cripe, who preceded her in death Oct. 24, 2004.
Surviving are their three children:

Cripe, Defiance, Ohio; Melody (and
spouse John) Hecht, Concord, N.C.; and Tracy (and spouse Theresa) Cripe, Jacksonville; six grandchildren: Leah (and spouse Ben) Rodriguez, Sarah Cripe, Lindsay (and spouse Andy) Goolsby, Kristin Hecht, Tara Cripe and Evan Jay Cripe; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Warsaw. Visitation with the family will begin at 10 a.m. and will feature a celebration of music selected by Marie and performed by her dear friend, Professor James Marriott of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. Her funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Dr. James Balke, Orange Park, Fla.
