PIERCETON - Marian E. Launder Graft Dyson Sherrill recently died.
She was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Chicago, Ill., to Alvia R. and Grace L. Wolf Launder. In July 1940, she married Owen Graft, and enjoyed 20 wonderful years of wedded bliss. She then married Edsel Dyson for a short time. Then she married Donald "Ed" Sherrill, who survives.
She enjoyed collecting Santas, and had accumulated more than 1,200. She taught ceramics in her small two-stall garage. She operated the Pierceton Motel for five years, then spent the last 24 years with her present husband. She spent the last seven months fighting cancer, but lost the battle with her family near her side.
Also surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Dan (Bonnie) Gill, Wabash; Mrs. Dennis (Rustee) Shoffner, Russiaville; and Mrs. Jay (Carol) Outcelt, Warsaw; a stepson, Randall Sherrill, Mishawaka; three stepdaughters: Mrs. Steve (Cindy) Lutz, Mishawaka; Mrs. Keith (Diana) Sorenson, Antich, Ill.; and Barbara Sherrill, Fort Myers, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Roser, Las Vegas, Nev. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie Eiler.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Don Pastor officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery, on the south edge of Pierceton.
