Margaret 'Peg' Rood

Margaret “Peg” Rood, 98, Pierceton, passed away at 12:30 a.m. June 15, 2016, in Warsaw Meadows Care Center, surrounded by her family.
On Dec. 4, 1917, she was born in Wilmot to Watson and Gustava Drake Beezley. On May 7, 1943, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Rood, who preceded her in death.
She was a lifelong member of Pierceton United Methodist Church and was a beautician by trade for over 60 years. She was the proud owner of Peg’s Beauty Shop.
She is survived by her children: Douglas (and spouse Eva) Rood, Fort Wayne; Kathleen (and spouse Sam) Smith, Geneva, Ill.; Lise (and spouse Chuck) Collier, Pierceton; her sister, Donna Kline, Syracuse; five grandchildren: Chad Collier, Andrew Rood, Travis Rood, Connor Smith, Hannah-Li Smith;  and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by her son, Chris; her mother and father; three brothers, Bernard, Thad and Jack Beezley; and two sisters, Gwendolyn Dietrich and Maxine Blake.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Pierceton, with Pastor Holly White officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Wilmot.
Calling is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral chapel.
