Margaret Mary NethBLOOMINGTON – Margaret Mary Neth, age 74, of Bloomington, passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at her residence.
She was born July 24, 1948, in Davenport, Iowa, to Francis Foley and Bernice Zmuda Foley. Margaret was a graduate of Assumption Catholic High School in Davenport and then from Marycrest College in Davenport as well where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education and Art. She spent her entire professional career as a school educator in various schools primarily in Batesville.
She was an avid artist and contributed many volunteer hours working with the Rural Alliance of the Arts with the Batesville Area Arts Council. Margaret belonged to the St. Louis Catholic Church in Batesville while raising her family there and eventually became a member of the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Bloomington. While a member of the church in Batesville, she headed up the religious education programs.
She leaves behind her daughter, Kathleen "Kat" Rader and husband Andy, of Ellettsville; son, Michael Neth, of Big Bend, Calif.; sister, Barb Connell and husband Dave, of Davenport, Iowa; godchild, Chris Connell; nieces and nephews: Connie Thompson, Matt Connell, Cory Faulhaber, Ryan Connell, Patrick Connell, Sheri, Linda and Michelle Hebbeln, Annette Marchan, and David Browning; sister-in-law, Phyllis Neth Browning and husband Dave; brother-in-law, John Neth; and her longtime best friend, Margie Hendrixson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, William.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 10 at noon at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass at noon, also at the church.
