SOUTH WHITLEY - Marcia Mabel Himes, 61, of South Whitley, died at 12:12 p.m. Oct. 9, 2010, in The Waters of Summit City, Fort Wayne.
She was born Oct. 7, 1949, in Huntington, to H. June and Ruby Jenkins Mishler. On June 20, 1969, in South Whitley, she married Lee A. Himes, who died Aug. 31, 2005.
She graduated from South Whitley High School in 1967. She worked at Gripco and Johnson Brothers, South Whitley, but her favorite career was that of homemaker, wife and mother. She was a resident of South Whitley for the majority of her lifetime, moving to Fort Wayne in 2003.
Surviving are a son, Travis "TJ" (and spouse Amanda) Himes, Columbia City; five grandchildren: Jaelyn, Jagger and Ryker Himes, all of Columbia City, and Hannah and Shayla Himes, both of Pierceton; three sisters, Monna (and spouse Gene) Crawford, Lake City, Fla., and Marlene (and spouse Rob) Mishler and Millie Mishler, all of South Whitley; and a brother, Milan (and spouse Suzy) Mishler, North Manchester. She was preceded in death by a son, Wade S. Himes, who died Jan. 2, 2009, and two brothers, Mick and Manford Mishler.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia city, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Wike of Community of Hope Church. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.
Calling is from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
