MILFORD - Maple Leaf Farms has issued a voluntary recall notice on all 10-ounce packages of Crunchy Chicken Nuggets.
The action is being taken because the words "whey powder" were omitted from the ingredient sequence on packages with code numbers 9000 and 9125, between Jan. 1, 1999, and May 4, 1999.
Since milk is an allergen to some people and whey is derived from milk, Maple Leaf Farms is removing this product from the market-place. Consumers with a milk allergy should not eat this product, but should return it to the place of purchase. The product is safe to be consumed by people who are not allergic to milk.
