LEESBURG – Maple Leaf Farms recently donated $2,500 to Edgewood Middle School in Warsaw to upgrade the school’s foods lab equipment.
“It has been an amazing start to the school year,” said Edgewood Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Edith Rohrer. “The equipment was much needed to upgrade Edgewood’s foods lab. I am eternally grateful to the donors and thankful the community supports education and the FACS department.”
Edgewood’s foods lab helps middle school students get practical, hands-on experience in the kitchen. Maple Leaf Farms’ donation was matched by a private donor, enabling the school to purchase much-needed equipment, such as a dishwasher, microwaves, stand mixers and various other kitchen supplies that students use to develop their skills.
