MILFORD - Throughout 2008, Maple Leaf Farms donated nearly eight tons of food products to area food banks including Our Father's House, Combined Community Services, Syracuse Food Pantry and North Webster Food Pantry.

The company also donated products to the Food Bank of Northern Indiana, which services food banks, soup kitchens and other charitable organizations throughout the region."We have a long-standing relationship with these organizations, which meet such an important need in our community," said CEO Terry Tucker. Most recently, Maple Leaf Farms donated approximately 1,500 pounds of poultry products to Food-A-Thon 2008, which is an annual fundraiser held by local radio stations. The company also donated products nationally to charity fundraising events for organizations such as Feeding America, Share Our Strength and the Make a Wish Foundation.
