Manchester’s Davis HonoredManchester Squires’ Isaiah Davis has been named Times-Union’s Athlete of the Week for April 22-27.

Davis won the high jump and long jump in a Three Rivers Conference meet at Whitko Tuesday. He remained unbeaten outdoors in the high jump this season, and his only loss to date in the long jump was at the Busco Relays April 13. He also anchors the 4x100 and 4x400 relays for the Squires.

The senior has a 3.2 GPA and will be attending Bethel College in the fall on a track scholarship. He plans to study computer science with a minor in marketing.

Along with track, Davis has played soccer for three years, basketball for three seasons and football for one season for the Squires. He enjoys listening to music, playing video games and spending time with friends in his spare time. He also coaches youth soccer, and was named prom king Saturday.

“Isaiah is a selfless competitor who is always helping others, even those from other teams, to improve their skill level,” said Manchester track coach Julie Cassel. “His leadership is deeply appreciated.”
