Manchester's Barnett Advances To East Noble Regional

HUNTINGTON — At Saturday’s Huntington North Sectional, the Manchester girls golf team didn’t advance to regionals, but one player did. Manchester junior Claire Barnett will compete at Saturday’s East Noble Regional at Noble Hawk Golf Links in Kendallville after shooting an 88 at LaFontaine Golf Club Saturday, a score that advanced her as an individual. As a team, the Manchester Lady Squires seventh out of 10 teams, with only the top three moving on to regionals. Advancing as teams will be 12th-ranked Marion, who won the sectional with a 351, as well as Southwood (392) and Huntington North (408). Along with Barnett’s score, Manchester’s Nina Smith shot a 113, followed by Erin Working (117), Gabbi Wilcox (119) and Madison Hire (125).
