FULTON – Manchester’s track teams both won four-team meets at Caston Monday evening. The boys team had 86 points to Caston’s 82, with North Miami scoring 55 team points. Lakeland Christian had one point. The Lady Squires outdistanced Caston 108-71, with North Miami at 38 points and LCA at five. The boys are now off until next Tuesday when they take on Whitko and Northfield. The girls are going to Churubusco Relays on Saturday. Jeremy Julian carded a 44, and Cole Cumberland a 45. Trevor Neeley had a 48 and Kane Stellar 53 for Valley. The Vikings tee it up again at the Whitko Invitational on Saturday.
Monday in Granger Granger Christian defeated Lakeland Christian Academy 182-208 at Juday Creek Monday. Jacob Strickland shot a 48 for the Cougars, with Evan Bremer carding a 51. Drew Nieveen had a 53, Kyle Shuler had a 56, and Addison Torres a 62.
Softball Monday in Huntertown Tori Silveus got the win in the circle, allowing four hits and recording one strikeout in Whitko’s 8-7 win at Carroll. Hanna Yohe came in relief in the sixth and gave up three hits. The Wildcat offense was led by Haley Yohe, Hanna Yohe, Kennedy Krull, Silveus, Aly Nicodemus, and Whitney Marsh. Monday in Knox Triton scored in every inning on its way to a 10-4 home win over Knox. Taytum Hargrave and Nicole Secrist had three hits each for the Lady Trojans. Kayla Kreft and Hannah Jennings drove in two runs each. Brycelyn Garbison pitched a complete game, striking out three over seven innings for the win.
