Manchester Town Council Plans For Water, Sewer Relocations

NORTH MANCHESTER - At Wednesday night's meeting, the North Manchester Town Council approved engineering plans with Jones and Henry for two upcoming bridge reconstruction projects.
Water and sewer mains must be moved during bridge reconstruction. The water relocation plan is $94,532 and the sewer relocation plan is $47,056. Both amounts will be reimbursed by the Indiana Department of Transportation.
A fuel adjustment request from Republic Services was approved for $11,871.13 to allow for fluctuations in diesel costs.
The Council heard from Chris Harrison, of Commonwealth Engineering, who thanked North Manchester for allowing Commonwealth to help with their asset management plan, and Bob Sklar, of 116 W. Main St., who complained of a lack of parking enforcement in town.
Town Manager Adam Penrod reported progress with concrete pouring at the South Mill Street pavilion project and positive results with pressure testing at the Grant Street water project.
Clerk-Treasurer Carrie Mugford reported a town docket of $409,980.76 and a utilities docket of $200,645.89.
