NORTH MANCHESTER -ÊA budget reduction resolution was adopted Tuesday in North Manchester.

The Manchester School Board approved reducing the retirement debt severance fund by $17,606, the preschool/special education fund by $30,695 and the capital projects fund by $294,599.

According to Manchester Community Schools Business Manager Steve Shumaker, the preschool/special education fund was reduced because the school system did not have as many special needs students as originally figured into the budget.

About $75,000 of the capital projects fund reduction resulted from the budget exceeding the set rate cap. The remaining $219,000 was needed to neutralize the retirement debt service.
