More than a year after a woman was allegedly abducted, threatened and touched the man accused of the crime will go to trial. On Thursday, Bill E. Warren, 37, of 514 E. Third St., North Manchester was in court for a conference. Earlier in December Prosecuting Attorney Daniel Hampton filed a motion to continue a jury trial in the matter and it was granted by Kosciusko County Superior I Court Judge Duane Huffer. The date for the trial has not been set. Warren is charged with two counts of criminal confinement, a Class B Felony and two counts of intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Class C felony, stemming from an incident on Aug. 30, 2010. Warren allegedly met the 26-year-old woman and her 3-year-old daughter around midnight at the intersection of Ind. 13 and Ind. 14 to talk about getting a job. After talking for a while Warren pulled out a box-cutter and told the woman to drive. The woman refused to drive, then Warren put the knife to her throat and threatened to slit her throat if she didn't drive. The woman allegedly escaped multiple times before he put the woman and her daughter in the trunk of the car and told them if they made a sound he would kill them. Warren allegedly drove the woman to an area close to the Kosciusko/Wabash county line. The woman told police that she was handcuffed to a tree and Warren made her take her cloths off and he touched her in a sexual manner repeatedly. After a few hours the woman was driven back the intersection of Ind. 13 and Ind. 14 where Warren's car was. At that time she was able to escape and call 911. The woman also told police that Warren was wearing blue gloves and that he wiped her car down with alcohol afterwards. Shortly after midnight Warren crashed his vehicle in Wabash County near CRs 110N and 800E. Officers from the Indiana State Police, Wabash, Whitley, Huntington and Kosciusko County Sheriff's Departments surround the vicinity and used canine units to chase Warren to Ind. 114 where he was arrested.
