The host Wildcats cut the lead to 22-14 at halftime before the Lady Squires outscored the home team in each of the last two quarters.

Manchester coach Josh Troyer felt better about his team’s second-half performance than he did at halftime.

“We played a little tight in the first half and sent them to the free throw line too often which led to a close game at the half,” said Troyer. “I thought we regrouped well at halftime and came out and executed on both ends in the second half.

“I am very proud of how we responded and the grit we showed in the game tonight. We will continue to work to grow moving forward and look forward to another tough contest (tonight).”

Emma Garriott led Manchester with 15 points. She also had four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Ranissa Shambarger had eight points, three assists and a rebound, and  Beletu Stout had six points, two assists and a rebound.

Mackenzie Day had a team-high eight rebounds for Manchester.

Other scorers for Manchester were Morgan Parrett, 5; Kiera Hatfield, 3; Ainsley West, 5; Makenzy Meyer, 4 and Day, 1.
