NORTH MANCHESTER – Junior Cierra Carter scored 16 points and classmate Bailey Sewell added nine points in Manchester’s 46-30 win over visiting Bluffton Saturday night. Sophomore Sydney Day added six points for the winning team. The Lady Squires held an 18-17 lead at halftime before expanding the lead to six points after the third quarter. Manchester outscored the Lady Tigers 19-9 in the final period to secure the win. Carter scored 10 points after the intermission, and Sewell had six points in the fourth quarter. “The team battled through foul trouble late, but through a collective team defensive effort, we were able to win the game,” said Manchester head coach Jacob Everett via e-mail. Manchester is now 2-0 on the season, and will host Maconaquah in the Three Rivers Conference opener for both teams at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday night.
