Manchester Falls At Mississinewa In Opener

Manchester trailed just 9-8 at the half, but gave up six points in the third and 10 points in the fourth.

Micah Atkinson put the game away for Mississinewa when he barrelled in from two yards out with 2:26 remaining in the game.

Mississinewa finished the game with 44 carries for 193 yards, while Manchester pounded out 104 yards on 33 carries.

Jennen Gaerte led the Squire receivers with 103 yards on four receptions, as Manchester signal caller Joe Egner finished the game 6 of 16 for 126 yards.

Manchester is on the road again next week at Heritage in a 7:30 p.m. contest.
