NORTH MANCHESTER – Manchester High School held its fall sports award program Wednesday evening. Awards were presented in nine different sports, including cheerleading. The Rotary Mental Attitude awards went to Bailey Ness in football, Kylie Hensley in girls soccer, Isaac Egner in boys soccer, Heath Dierks in boys tennis, Ali Casper in volleyball, Madison Hire in girls golf, Makayla Harrell in cheerleading, Tahnee Fuentes in girls cross country, and Lance Bennett in boys cross country. The Squire Award was presented to Janzin Cripe in football, Brooklyn Howard in girls soccer, Nathan Self in boys soccer, Max Karg in boys tennis, Corrie Osborne in volleyball, Lydia Little in girls golf, Tabby Porter in cheerleading, Emily Lynn in girls cross country, and Hunter Miller in boys cross country. Other awards presented for girls soccer included The Stopper, Olivia Dockter; The Golden Boot, Katelyn Andritsch; and the Heart and Hustle award went to Bailey Sewell. Colin McNeeley was presented The Golden Boot for boys soccer. Self was recognized as the assist leader, and Zach Hill as defensive leader. “The Nickname” went to Michael Wirsing, and Jacob Slavkin was tabbed the fan favorite. Spence Trick was named the most improved for boys tennis. The Heart and Spirit award went to Parker Wagoner and the most valuable wins award was presented to Luke Donathan. Osborne was also presented the Blood, Sweat, and Tears award for the volleyball team. Sydney Day was voted most improved, while the Heart and Hustle award went to Emma West. The junior varsity most improved award went to Emma Casper, and the JV Diamond in the Rough award went to Greta Auler. Kelsey Eichenauer of the girls golf team was honored for having the lowest 18-hole average. Leiah Brandenburg was tabbed the most improved player, and the most accurate Squire went to Madyson Ulrey. In cheerleading, Breyenna Richey was named best teammate, Regan Bellinger the most dedicated, and Alyssa Peyton won the All-Star Jumps award. Rae Bedke was the girls cross country team’s most valuable runner, while Katie Barker was named most improved, and Sarah Rohr was recognized as the most promising newcomer. Thomas Rohr was the most valuable runner on the boys cross country team, and the most improved was Montgomery Pattison. Drew Jones was named the most promising newcomer.
