Manchester Downs Whitko In TRC Baseball Action

NORTH MANCHESTER -ÊThe Manchester and Whitko baseball teams met in North Manchester Wednesday night for a Three Rivers Conference game. The Squires topped the Wildcats 9-2.

Manchester jumped out to an early lead in the second inning when the Squires scored three runs. The Squires went on to score three more runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the sixth to tally nine runs.

Whitko's runs came one at a time in the fourth and fifth innings.

The Squires pounded out three home runs in the contest, one each from Jon Gratz, Brady Burgess and Tom Hardy.

Manchester improves to 12-7 on the season and 4-1 in TRC play, while Whitko falls to 7-9 overall and 2-3 in the TRC.

The Tippecanoe Valley baseball team traveled to Denver to face Three Rivers Conference opponent North Miami Wednesday. The Warriors defeated the Vikings 14-12. Valley took a 10-5 lead in the bottom of the fifth, but then walked nine batters to squander the lead. Valley is now 7-12 overall and 0-5 in TRC play.

The Triton baseball team hosted Jimtown Wednesday and handed the Jimmies their second Northern State Conference loss of the season, 11-9. Jimtown's other loss came to the Trojans as well. Joe Potter led the Triton squad with two hits in four at-bats, a double and three RBIs. Triton is now 12-7 on the season and 8-5 in NSC play.
