Manchester Downs Tippecanoe Valley In TRC PlayAKRON – Manchester scored four runs in the second inning to go with single runs in the first, fourth and fifth frames to take a 7-0 lead, then held off host Tippecanoe Valley for an 8-5 win in Three Rivers Conference softball Friday night.

The Vikings made a comeback bid by scoring four times in the bottom of the fifth and once an inning later, before Manchester added an insurance run in the seventh for the final margin.

Emma Evans had three singles, drove in three runs and scored once for the Squires. Carsyn Howard had a double and an RBI and Emma West singled, drove in a run and scored twice. Lydia Greer had a pair of singles and scored a run for Manchester.

Kindra Stetzel had a complete-game victory in the pitcher’s circle, allowing one earned run while walking three and striking out seven.

Kirstyn Yoder doubled, singled and drove in three runs for Tippecanoe Valley. Amy Baca, Sydney Howard, Brayden Bahney and Alex Gomez all singled and scored for the Vikings.

Mayde Fear pitched all seven innings for the Vikings. She allowed two earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Next up, Manchester will play a TRC game at Northfield Monday, and Valley travels to Rochester for a conference matchup that same day.
